About us

Hong Kong Social Workers Association  (HKSWA), established in 1949, is the largest non-union professional body of social work in Hong Kong. One of its commitments, among others, is to promote the advancement of the standard of social work practice in Hong Kong. In 1998, HKSWA was entrusted to pursue the proposal to advocate evolution of social work as a profession from generic practice to supervised, clinical, specialised and finally independent practice with highest professional autonomy.
